Today at 7 PM in the ateliers of Filmová škola Zlín the 6th Film festival Zlínský pes was started. During the opening ceremony several members of organizing committee were presented with their own short speeches. Guests could hear the executive headmaster of the school David Skaunic, the main organizer Jiří Králík and also the leader of the animation department Michael Carringhton. Several guests from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and other countries were also present. Before the festival itself started there was a workshop of VŠMU in Bratislava, where Mr. Ondrej Slivka presented Department of animation by a lecture on topic “The atmosphere of the Earth in eyes of artist and director”. Workshop of Prague film school followed with an interactiv motive „Image is more than thousands words“ lead by Joan Sanchéz, who expanded the topic on how using colors and lighting can influence human sensation.
At half past four the first night of Vítejte v KLDR started. This movie directed by Linda Jablonská, who graduated in documentary film on FAMU, is about czech tourists who experience their socialist past on a travel to KLDR. When the movie ended Mr. Kvarda, one of the travelers, talked about conditions in Northern Korea, about constant military oversight, about floors in hotels overlain by pages of school notebooks.
First day well spent in the world of films finished by a concert of Pavel Procházka from Uherské Hradiště where everyone enjoyed the atmosphere which helped to relax and refresh their senses.
